Position Summary

Himalayan Ridge Engineering (HRE) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Engineer to prepare structural designs and technical drawings and to collaborate with project teams on engineering initiatives for our North American clients. This is an entry-level opening: no prior industry experience is required.

Qualifications & Expected Knowledge

Education & Experience

        Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

        No prior industry experience required — this is an entry-level (fresher) position.

(Preference will be given to those with Structural-related electives and projects)

Technical Skills

        Comprehensive understanding of building structural design principles.

        Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Autodesk Revit (Structure), AutoCAD, RISA 3D, Mathcad, and Bluebeam, or a demonstrated ability to learn these tools quickly.

        Fundamental Knowledge of Building codes.

        Exceptional attention to detail with strong written and verbal English communication skills.

        Problem-solving orientation and a collaborative work ethic.

Preferred / Added Advantage

        Final-year project or coursework involving structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RISA) or Revit structural modeling.

        Exposure to North American structural design and drafting conventions.

        Prior internship or academic exposure to wood-frame, steel, or reinforced-concrete design.

        Familiarity with applicable structural and building codes — ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, and IBC

Duties & Responsibilities

        Perform structural analysis and design of gravity and lateral systems — foundations, framing members, and connections — under the direction of a supervising engineer.

        Prepare and document structural design calculations in RISA 3D, Mathcad, and Excel, recording design assumptions, load paths, and code references.

        Develop structural Revit models and drawings covering foundations, framing, sections, and details.

        Translate design output into structural drawings, working from the supervising engineer's annotations and client specifications.

        Adhere to HRE's Revit templates, drafting standards, and established workflows.

        Build structural design and Revit competency — analysis, member sizing, detailing, and modeling — through project experience and ongoing professional development.

        Coordinate with supervising engineers and colleagues on drafting and design requirements.

        Verify that designs, drawings, and calculations adhere to applicable codes (ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, IBC), client requirements, and HRE quality benchmarks.

        Track technical progress, efficiency, and schedule performance on assigned tasks.

        Uphold HRE's professional standards and values in all client-facing and internal work.

Software & Tools

        Required: Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD.

        Preferred: Autodesk Revit (Structure), RISA 3D, Mathcad, Bluebeam Revu.

        Supporting: Microsoft Office and cloud-based file management platforms.
